dead man's switch

Fellow yakers,
Can anyone point me in the right direction to buy a deadman's switch for my Minn Kota powered Kayak? Seems like a good thing to have.
Also, which would be best for monitoring the battery, an amp meter or a volt meter?
As you guessed, I'm a newbie.!
