Newbie

Greetings one and all,

I've been lurking (pun intended) in this web site for a couple of weeks now and I finally have a reason to say "hello" to everyone. Today I purchased a new Wilderness Systems Tarpon 140 fishing kayak. I've been researching kayaks and searching for new and used kayaks for a couple of months and today I pulled the trigger on this one. I know there are many good kayaks and this is one that met my needs. Most of my kayaking and fishing will be done in lakes and streams and rarely, if ever, will I have an opportunity to fish in the ocean as most of you do. I appreciate seeing fish you catch and reading the stories and someday I hope to add some of my own.

Good to hear your report.

Although I may add a different kayak to my "fleet", I have never regreted my Tarpons.

Best of luck to you!

With all that great water to fish near Sac , you'll be busy for years. Back in the day , when you could fish the deep water port , there was some fantastic night fishing under the lights. If you can sneak in , try it on an incoming tide , the striper bite is killer. Indian Valley reservoir west of Williams is cool too , fish the north end in the trees , and troll leadcore in the creek channel for trout. Scott Shaw

Coach,
Good choice on the Tarpon 140. I have had mine for a couple of years now. It has been pretty good to me. The one thing that made the a big difference with mine was the addition of a rudder. Welcome aboard.:welcome
