I am interested in knots and always looking for a better way to make connections. There are a lot of videos and illustrations of knots available but many still require watching someone tie in person or having someone watch you tie. Hope to get some help here.

This seaguar knot is fast and easy for hooking your flurocarbon onto your mono (Seaguar flurocarbon designed it).

What I have found is using one more turn makes this work great for hooking a piece of flurocarbon direct to your spectra - with a caveat - you need to wet the knot before tightening and be gentle and uniform cinching it down. Do a bit at a time and make certain you keep your figure-8 from jumbling up.

I use this on everything up to big tuna.

Nice pictures, Seaslug. Easy to see. I'm gonna play with that one when I get home tonight. If memory serves, the one I use is the Blood Knot, but this looks like more of a sure thing.

Blood knot is great, especially for use where the knot will go through the guides. The line ends come straight out to the sides and the knot slides through.

The Seaguar knot is best to attach 18" to 36" of flurocarbon to the end of your spectra or mono main line. It is so fast and easy you can learn to tie it in the dark. It is my go-to knot for leader attachment.

Connecting long sections of line I use the double-uni.

Another knot I use a lot is the spider hitch. It is super easy to tie and you can use it for a dropper loop or and end loop.

I made it out to the new BPS yesterday and overheard a salesperson talking to a customer concerning the Bimini Twist Knot using Spectra. I Googled and came up with a few hits. Is this knot as difficult to as I've heard it to be? I'm thinking about knots tough enough for larger Yellowtails or Albacore or is it even necessary to know this knot?

Good comparative chart to go by. I appreciate the help with that question. If and when I get the chance to really hook a lunker of a lifietime, I don't need to lose it due to a shotty knot.

I like the way they tie the knots. The double blood knot is good in that it will probably go through the guides well. Knot as strong though.
