Slide Trax system

Is the slide trax accessory system offered on some Wilderness System Kayaks proprietory or can other accessories i.e. Fishfinders, Scotty Rod Holders, e.t.c. be used? I rather like the idea of having such convenient access near the cockpit and also aft of the seat and would negate the need for drilling holes, bolt-ons e.t.c. (got my eyes on a new Tarpon 140).

The SlideTrax system can be used to mount whatever you want really. See mostly rod holders, sonars, and camera mounts on them.

Harmony Gear obviously makes their stuff for the system however YakAttack has come up with some bomber new products for the SlideTrax as well.

Re: Slide Trax system

yah, I've also seen some home made slides that work in the trax system. I am also wondering if the trax rails can be purchased separately. I find plenty of accessories online, but have not been able to find the trax rails themselves. Short of perhaps trying to adapt track lighting to suit this purpose, it would be a whole lot simpler to purchase the actual trax rails for use on other brands of boats.
