I am a pretty big fan of waders over paddling pants, I then just use one of west marines emergency floatation belts around the waist just in case you fall in with the waders on!! And hodgman waders seem to last thru a great deal of abuse by me and others! The waders keep you warm and dry which will be really nice if you are out in midwinter in central cal hunting Stripers!
