1.5oz Spinbombs
When running spinner baits down deep, sometimes we need one that will go down and stay down regardless of the currents or while drifting. There are times when the standard 1/2-3/4 oz just doesn't cut it. I recently picked up some jetty worms from none other than Trix Jetty Worms, and decided to try their heavy series of spinnerbaits called Spin Bombs. They come in a few colors and weights from 3/4oz up to 2.5oz.
I have yet to try them, but for getting down deep they look like they will fit the bill to a "T". These are the 1.5oz weights, and I'll post how they do when I get a chance to use them. Perry

Re: 1.5oz Spinbombs
They look awesome Perry! I can imagine working one of those Spin Bombs deep in the main channel out in front of the launch at Shelter Island! Bass,
halibut, or anything else will try to kill those lures! It is unreal how far the bass inhale those spinnerbaits! You almost have to do surgery on some of them to get your lure back! Robert |

Re: 1.5oz Spinbombs
Cashe,
Don't wait on me, cause it's gonna be a few weeks Spinners are a good searching type of lure to sue, and lot like a crankbait in that you can cover alot of water to see who's home. For bays like Newport or Mission bay, I usually use 10lb line on a nice baitcaster. I'll try a white/chartreuse spinnerbait then some type of darker color if the first doesn't get bit. Weights I try are usually in the 1/2oz range for working them shallow to 10ft or there abouts. I may be off on the depth, but I'll try lighter then go heavier if I have to so I can work the depth I want. You can use them around structure, above eel grass beds or just about anywhere in bays. They can work if you toss them out, then give them a countdown then start a retrieve. If you're not getting bit, give them a few more seconds of sink time before the retrieve. They can be used in many situations which makes them a good lure to have in your arsenal. TC&TL, Perry
