Salona Beach 6/24 Surf Fishing Report
Jackie, Bob, and I started fishing right around high tide at 6:00 A.M. It started off slow. Lots of salad to foul your lures and Carolina rigs. I had a big skunk stripe until I talked to Bob. He was catching lots of little ones, and was nice enough to let me know where the fish were at. I ended up with around a dozen the size of the one above. Not exactly the slabs we were looking for, but they were fun to catch and release. All fish were caught on the Gulp camo sandworm. (AKA "Fish Crack") We called it a morning about 8:30 A.M. Highlight of the day was watching 2 pods of killer whales swim by heading South just outside the surf line. Plenty of sea lions for them to eat out there. Chow down guys! Jackie and Bob, as always, it was great fishing with you guys again. We need to hit the surf again soon and hopefully we will get a shot at some slabs or some beans. Robert |

Re: Salona Beach 6/24 Surf Fishing Report
Robert,
Always great fishing with you. Jackie and I were trying to remember the last time we went surf fishing. Been so long we can't remember. Those little BSP sure can put a mean hit on the bait. Like you said next time we'll get big ones. BC |
