Question Fish Finder Installation Question

After a couple years of using a portable fish finder I have finally decided to install a permanent fish finder on my Tarpon 160.
What is the best way to seal the tranducer and battery wires that come through the deck to the fish finder display.
I could have sworm somebody made a waterproof plug to pass the wires through, but I can't think of who made them.
Any suggestions?

Steve

Try cutting a plug outta a piece of pool noodle, and make it larger than the hole you're plugging.make a slit for the cable , then jam the plug/cable in the hole! Not 100 % watertight, but better than wide open! Piranha

Steve,

Perry is out of town this weekend but I believe you can pick this item up at West Marine, look for Ancor Liquid Tite Wire Seal (I think it is Ancor's item number 765000). Hope this helps.

Steve,
The wire seals are available at most West marine stores. They are typically in the electrical isle where the different switches and whatnot are. They are about $12, and come with 3 different rubber donuts to fit different wire sizes with the proper compression on the wires for the seal. I think they fit wires up to .250". The plug that my Eagle Fisheasy-2 uses is the largest that will fit through the top nut, which is the only drawback I have found with this item. The compression seal is top notch, but you're limited on the diameter of what you want to seal because of it also. Hope this helps

Thanks Perry
I'll try to get down there this weekend. Maybe I can sneak in some fishing while I'm there.
