completed Stealth
Finally the Stealth is now complete!
Well.... the kayak is complete! The Humminbird 798c si is now mounted on the X-Wing and man is that transducer big! I also just finished making my rod holders so they stay inside the flushmounts better. I added the Ram mount and have it straight out towards me for easy access! Very easy to read and mark spots or change screens. Custom transducer mount with a $5.00 antenna pole holder from Boaters World and custum stainless steel pipe. Here is the kelp line going out to the bait barge from the launch. Nice little drop off on the regular finder. gps or chartplotter gps and fishfinder gps and sideview fishfinder and sideview fishfinder... notice, no fish! fishfinder with lots of blood in the water Looks like a bait ball to me, why isn't it red? on the left of the sideview is the kelp stringer by the first green bouy. this here is a Sand Bass. I put it under the transducer. Pilings on the right side. Jetty rocks on the left Still have to get used to a few things but the 12 volt, 10 ahm battery started at 12.5 volts and after 6.5 hours it read 12.2 volts. |

Re: Malibu Kayak Stealth 14 with X-Wing
I have a question when it comes to the fish finder install on the X-wing! I myself have the Stealth-14 being shipped to me from OEX and I am going to install the eagle cuda 300 myself. Question: Once I install the finder on the x-wing and route the wires through it to the battery, how will I then route the ducer cable from the x-wing into the hull of the yak? Should I even install the ducer inside or find a different way? It just looks easy and neat to put in the hull.... Please help if anyone can!!

Re: Malibu Kayak Stealth 14 with X-Wing
Look on Kayak Fishing Supplies, search wire seal as well as deck connector. This is how you will get the transducer routed in the hull. If you split the power to the x wing
(battery in x wing)and the transducer to the hull, you will need a deck connector on your X wing, to make it removable, otherwise route both to hull and battery in hull.

Thanks Sonny. Steve was right though.... the fishfinder won't make the fish bite. |

Re: Malibu Kayak Stealth 14 with X-Wing
Andy/Kiyo,
Where is the outflow for the automatic bilge located? How does the floating bilge work? Triggered by moisture?

Re: Malibu Kayak Stealth 14 with X-Wing
Nate... the bilge pump is located in the back. When the switch floats up it clicks and tuns on the pump. It pumps out in the back where the bait tank is strapped down and just pumps back on top of the kayak.
It needs to be adjusted. Maybe a piece of styrofoam rubber banded below the swith so it will pump quicker. |
