1. Mission Bay April 16th 2011 Hosted OEX Mission Bay 2. Newport Harbor July 30th Hosted by Southwind Kayak 3. San Diego Bay November 5th Hosted by OEX Mission Bay RULES
Rules: *** By participating in the Tournament Trail tournaments or events you must adhere to a code of sportsmanlike conduct. Any angler who violates the rules of the events may be disqualified and banned from future participation in all future events as well as all website interactions. This includes conduct before, during and after events both on and off the water as well as online. Conduct deemed inappropriate may be grounds for disqualification or denial from participation in any events or website activities. Judgments of conduct are at the sole discretion of the tournament directors, assisted by website moderators and host facility owners. 1. These tournaments are bass-only events. Sand, Spotted Bay and Calico Bass are the only allowable fish for weighing towards your final stringer. 2. A tournament win is based on the total weight of 5 heaviest fish at the final weigh-in at 1pm. 3. All bass submitted must be alive and at least 12” in length. 4. Artificial baits only. Scents are allowed – squid or other cut bait is not. Berkley Gulp! is allowed. 5. All fishing must be from a kayak, canoe or float tube. No trolling motors or propulsion systems other than paddle, kick or pedal (ie: Hobie kayaks) is allowed. 6. Fish Finders and GPS units are allowed. 7. Tournament hours will be from 7am until 1pm. You are responsible for being on time to the final weigh-in. 8. Scoring will determined by the total weight of an angler's 5 heaviest bass as weighed by the weighboats. 9. You may weigh up to 10 total bass while complying with DFG regulations. The angler is responsible for keeping track of the number of fish weighed. Attempting to weigh more than 10 bass could result in disqualification. 10. You must abide by all DFG regulations. 11. All inquiries, objections or complaints concerning any believed infraction of tournament or DFG rules needs to be stated PRIOR to the awards ceremony.

Re: 2011 Tournament Schedule and Rules
Can a person fish in this with a one man ponton, the one that has one seat. They are similar to a Float tube but the person sits higher out of the water. My nephew owns one and I would like to know if he could enter the contest if he wanted to before I tell him about it.

Re: 2011 Tournament Schedule and Rules
As long as he has no motor on it we will allow him to fish from it in our events. Not 100% sure on the Southwind hosted event, you would need to call those guys.

The Southwind Kayaks tournament later this summer (July 30th, Newport Beach) only allows kayaks. No float tubes of any kind. John Upchurch is the contact at Southwind. He can be reached at 949-261-0200

Re: 2011 --New Date for Jult 30th Tourney?
Any considertion to move the July 30th date (maybe into August) to avoid the Southwind tourney that same day? Some of us would like to fish both.

Re: 2011 Tournament Schedule and Rules
Hi OEX crew, I see on Southwinds' site
http://www.southwindkayaks.com/Kayak...Bass_2011.html That registration for the July 30th event will be capped at 100, and that registration is over the phone. Do you know if they are registering yet? Will there be an on line form through OEX? Thanks! Roger |

Re: 2011 Tournament Schedule and Rules
I think you'll have a hard time getting 100 anglers seeing that Mission Bay had about 80? so I don't think it'll be a problem getting in. Anyhow, like that we are all launching from one location but also notice that we are losing an hour of fishing seeing how most other tournaments in years past have gone to at least 1:00. Just an observation.....can't recall if the Southwind tournament last year had these hours.
