Default Dana 8-24-07. Action central!

Tarpon Guy and Piranha went out today around 10.30 am. We're proof you don't have to get up early! Hit the croaker hole, and it was going strong! Next we went to Doheny. Doheny was Deadheney today. We returned to the harbor to a likely spot. Absolutley incredible. Bait balls, and hungry fish. We were using small chovies! You couldn't drift 20' without getting hit! Tarpon Guy's maiden voyage at Dana and it was an exciting one! I'll let him tell his story! I only caught two halis today, but they both were legal! Plus croakers, spotties, calicobass(small), bonito, white sea bass, barracuda, herring, etc, etc. All bass released, legals included! Only croaker and halibut went home! Here are a few pics!

A Rockwell moment! Baby Beach welcoming committee! Guess who the guy with a tattoo is? I think it's Yaky Yak!

A very tired Piranha (around 7pm!) with the obligatory on the grass shot! Catch of the day!

Had a great time fishing with Piranha yesterday. At the rate Piranha was jerkin’ ‘em out of the water, I told him he might upset the ecological balance of the Pacific

I caught a short Barracuda, a Bonita and a short White Sea Bass. I hooked a few Croakers but had trouble with them breaking off at the boat, which I finally figured out was because my line was too old.

Piranha went straight to the bait receiver and then started fishing with live bait. I started throwing plastic. I haven’t fished much with live bait because I just have a tow behind bucket, and it’s a lot of trouble. Piranha started getting hits right away, so pretty soon I switched to live bait. What a difference! So today, I have two projects. Change my line and put together a live well for my yak. If I get it put together by the end of the day, I can try it out Sunday.

Good meeting you, yaky yak!

Piranha, thanks for the tour of Dana. It was great fishing with ya!

BTW, also tried out my new IC-M34 radio. It worked fine and it was sure nice to be able to talk without yelling.
Good company, good fishing, good times

The Dynamic Duo strikes. Awesome job gentlement!!! Looks like you covered most inshore species. It's Jerry's lucky Mafia shirt. I think I'll have to wear mine on my next trip. It's been a while since I've launched from DP and it's about time to get back out. I'm on my 14th straight day at work and it's taking it toll. TG is officially hooked!!! Thanks for the report. See you on the water!!!

Did not want to break the lunch with my daughter but boy did I miss the trip! We got everything but the halis on Wednesday.

Piranha maybe better I did not go so you could catch the halis.

See you next week (Thurs or Fri?) - let me know. I will be on a tuna trip all Tuesday and Wednesday.
