Default Huntington Harbor 8/5/07

Went back again to Huntington Harbor
Tried to get some morning fishing in before meeting up with the in-laws on trindad island for a beach luncheon picnic. Decided that OC Sheriff wake wasn't going to crash me into shore again so I decided to anchor this time (see huntington harbor 8/4 post).

Made my way out to PCH bridge met up with another kayak for was peddling a hobie outback. He had caught a few spotties and a juvy WSB which he C & R'd.

All of a sudden this bird of prey swoops in and lands on the wire, huge talons. Anybody know what it is with a white chest, hawk, osprey, or ???

and

ended up hooking another 14" Spotty and a short 20" butt

Looks like Osprey to me. Probably nest in tall Eucalyptus trees nearby somewhere. They are a fishing machine.
