Default Catalina - Last day of vacation!!!

Took my good friend Ed over to Catalina today for his first ever SW Bass fishing trip. Set him up with a 15lb spinning outfit and off we went.

Crossing was a bit of a beeyyach today with wind/swell pretty crossed up both ways.

Hit up the back side for a few nice ones on swimmies and iron.

Got one that went well over 6lbs but for some reason the photo jpg is corrupted on the camera. Lots of 3-5lb fish today.

Ed with his first ever calico

Later in the day he managed to pull this one out of the kelp. Nice fish and consider Ed is about 6'5" and goes 250

A few others

They all had really full bellies and were puking up small anchovies when we boated them:

Swimbait of choice today:

On the way back, we ran into these guys again today, a few miles off the front side of Cat.

Not sure what type of dolphin/small whale they are but they did put on a really kewl show!!

Ed

Awesome report! Those are some beautiful calicos! Great pic of the whale jumping. Those are hard to get with most digitals
because of the lag time. Great job Ed!
