Just back from 2-day on Pacific Voyager - 20 guys - 175+ Albacore 30 pound average!

I brought 6 albies plus only Bluefin on the boat. Broke off an equal number of fish. Brought back close to 100 pounds of filet - can you say canned tuna? Actually some of the Bluefin will be sashimi.

Point - most caught on Avet SX6/4 reel with 50# spectra and 40# flurocarbon 3 foot leader. Avet says it is a 40 pound 2-speed reel and it is.

I agree with Piranha on the Curado with exception that I prefer a reel where the level wind goes back and forth on the cast as well as the retrieve. If you don't watch and put the level wind in the middle of the spool you have some very bad angles for the line coming off the spool.
