Piranha is on a distinguished road
Default July 1, Croakerama!

Yesterday I went out all by myself, looking for fish to put some iodine and fish oil in my family's diet! I was on the water from 6.30 am till around 5.15 pm! Almost 11 hours. The usual places were all hitting hard yesterday. I got a legal sandy trolling out(released) , then proceeded to really play with the fishies. 6 short halibut, a fat gopher bass(on the left in the pic), and two decent spotties, also in the pic! In the process, I was bitten off, broken off, had halis release themselves at the yak! It was pretty much non-stop action! Lost fish in the kelp. Etc. Then about four pm I headed for the croaker hole with my dead dines. I'd gotten kelp in the intake tube! Dropped some cut dine down and bang , very large croaker, probably over 3 lbs. And the yellowfin croaker can really fight. I think they outfight bass. These boys were pulling me around!. I knew I could get ten, that's the limit. So that's what I did! There are nine in my pic because one was hiding in my yak, he's the same general size as the rest! The smallest was about 14 inches! I took the pic with the fish on my yak so I could show the size! The fish and dive is 36 inches wide. Figure it out! Steamed Yellowfin with ginger, soy sauce, and green onions, served over white rice! Asian fish dinner tonight! Last night was gopher bass and spotties, fried! Enjoy the pic. Piranha out! 8)
