Post New kayak rods by Lamiglas

Woodland, WA. Kayaks represent fishing’s hottest category recently, and for good reason. These affordable and easily launched craft offer exceptional access to prime fishing areas, while their quiet, low-profile presence on the water provides for stealthy presentations to wary fish. The unique characteristics of kayak design, however, create challenges for traditional rods. With the introduction of the Lamiglas Kayak Series, paddlers now have specialized rods, intelligently designed to excel from this platform.

The Lamiglas Kayak Series includes seven saltwater models, four casting and three spinning. All are built in one piece, measure 7’6” in length and feature fast actions. The blanks are constructed of Lamiglas’ proprietary Tri-Flex Graphite construction— a building technique that uses three materials, drawing on the strengths of each to provide specific performance characteristics to the finished rod. The result is lightweight, sensitive and agile rods that deliver an incredible amount of power and long-term durability. The cork handle designs have been smartly designed to assist the angler, as have all elements of the Kayak Series.

The benefits of 7’6” rod length and fast action begin with trolling and continue through fighting fish. With rod holders placed in front of the angler in trolling situations, the length assures the trolled line will not interfere with paddling, regardless of the angle at which the holder is placed. With a fish on the line, the rod length and fast action assures that the angler can follow it around the ends of the kayak while remaining safely balanced in the cockpit.

Tri-Flex Graphite construction provides the confident power necessary to land fish. The angling position offered by a kayak is the most difficult position from which to land a fish. In the absence of a partner’s assistance, the angler must “high-stick” the rod to bring fish within range of a net or gaff. Countering the number one cause of rod failure, Tri-Flex Graphite offers the structural stability to withstand “high-stick” landing of fish.

Kayak Series handle designs are configured for use from a sitting position. The rear grips are shortened for easy maneuverability around the torso and thighs while the fore grips are lengthened for a firm grip, generating leverage from the upper body only. The lengthened fore grips also provide ample room to attach rod leashes where they will not interfere with a comfortable hand position.

The four Kayak Series casting models include: LK 7615 C, rated for 6- to 15-pound line, LK 7620 C, rated for 8- to 20-pound line, LK 7625 C, rated for 12- to 25-pound line and the LK 7640 C, rated for 20- to 40-pound line.

The three Kayak Series spinning models include the LK 7615 S, rated for 6- to 15-pound line, the LK 7620 S, rated for 8- to 20-pound line and the LK 7625 S, rated for 12- to 25-pound line.
